Of course, 2 weeks until baby girl is due we have to have trauma:) On Thursday I was out buying some groceries and daddy was home with the boys. The boys decided to take advantage of this and wanted to use the exercise ball as a trampoline. They shoved the ottoman up against it, and were jumping from the ottoman to the birth ball and then landing on the couch. Interesting choice of play huh! Well Breck hit the ball wrong and landed on the floor on his collar bone. Tears followed. Daddy consoled and we thought all was good. Everytime we'd pick him up under his arms he would cry, so we thought something hurt under his arms. The next day grandma was here and Breck continued to complain about his arm. That night Kyle was getting him to put him in his highchair for some watermelon and Breck started crying and couldn't be consoled for about 30 minutes. We took his shirt off to look at him and saw that his collar bone was swollen. After talking to the doctor they said to wait and take him to Kstat in the morning instead of the ER b/c the ER was a 3 hour wait.
So the next morning we woke up early and got to Kstat right when it opened at 9am. They had to Xray his collar bone, which was difficult because he wouldn't stay still so the pictures kept having a blur to them. Mommy couldn't go in with him b/c I'm pregnant so it was he and daddy in the room with the big scary machine. Hearing my baby cry down the hall was breaking my heart! They finally got the picture and said it was a "green side" fracture. He is supposed to wear a sling, which we haven't had much luck getting him to wear and have him be "careful" with it. Both hard things for a 22 month old to do!
So our baby boy Breck is the first person in our family to break a bone. :( So wish I didn't get to document this milestone. Since he is so young they said it will heal quickly and well, hope they are right! Until then, lots of extra cuddles are in store for him:)
